Yellow Spring

He woke me with a spring's yellow breeze
                        and his comforting, caring way
I could feel the colors swaying
while trees were waltzing to the warm
and the likened simplicity of resolution
                        born to chance
                        unharmed by loss of faith

In the calmness of an epiphany
                        one happiness through altered seeds
a voice from the clouds, a child's smile
                        or of flowered thoughts conceived
                        I danced joyfully
                        in the unsurpassed brilliance
                        of our secret, sweet reprieve

A collection of nature and future
patiently growing new petals under your snow
                        Played together in melodies
my ears had not heard and sent another
for your heart to carry hope
                        Determined like the nesting bird
to gather your strength on the other side of the world.

His duplicate song to the soul
                        intertwined branches of sweet song
Mirroring thoughts waiting for our time
melting the winter frost and gloom
will surround, protect and cradle you
                        like a mother's peaceful womb

He woke me with a spring's yellow breeze
then whispering truth, he gave the gift of life
And like the sun's infectious prayer
though it leaves us frightened and blind
                        after frozen tears bring rain
                        to cleanse all despair
He promised my word to you -
it will find you able to shine
