Unzipping the plastic bag
her eyes seemed focused
on the memories locked inside
So organized she thought
as she pulled roses and spring
from winter's storage
Smoothing the wrinkles
or were they waves of passion
with her delicate touch
she looked out the window
and noticed the green leaf -
a bud on the vine
the first sign of spring
Lying back, looking up
she closed her eyes
and began to dream...
The rush of the moments
familiar figure of home
smiles like sunshine
new to the soul
His touch upon her bare skin
the look in his eyes
mesmerized by the husky whisper
in her ear...
He was here...
right here....
We were...
Sighing and smiling
rolling her body to the side
arm embracing lonely space
she dare not cry
But the memory...
oh, the unforgettable memory
of his loving face
embroidered like the flower
upon the bed on which she lay
Remained in her heart
forever stained where she lay
Someday...
she vowed silently, determined
someday
