Returning Home

The darkness and secrets hiding my future
playfully taunting the world in which I didn't live
                        Out of these shadows emerging
                        a butterfly
                        delicate and determined
                        ready to forgive herself
                        brightly colored with song

                        The sunlight warming my wings
                        gentle winds blow me forth
                        Blood pumping through my will
                        to attempt to rise
                        above the trees
near the soft billowy clouds of comfort

Silently I rise, I flutter, then I fly
                        Oh, how I travel far
                        only to land soon
                        Secure and strong
                        within a new Spring breeze
                        I safely return home
