Closing The Door

Quiet and dark on a moonlit eve
Attempting to make sense of this
Thinking of all that she did to deceive
                        something poisonous in His kiss

Despite words of reason running through her head
trying to convince her of the truth
She felt empty, betrayed, hopeless and dead
but knew she was finally through

Finding her strength was her first step
inside of the life she once cherished
She turned to her love confessed everything
and her fears began to vanish

No more sleepless and restless nights
                        with anxiety as her guide
She saw the beauty in living free
and would never have to hide

Though parts of her Soul felt she didn't have a chance
to give Him the last of the story
A promise made she couldn't again betray
For the sheer pleasure of the glory

Deep down she knew Her terrible spin
of words that came upon His ears
                        But she closes the door
                        turns off the lights
and quietly dries her last tear
