Artist's Mind

She desperately tries to paint the smile
                        of the passerby who has walked too many miles
                        And though she feels inadequate in form
                        her creativity is never harmed
                        Brilliant with colors but subtle with hues,
                        she tirelessly studies her secret muse
                        A mirror for the one she already knows
                        reflects the spectrum of colors she chose
                        Ribbons of delight wrapped in a dream
                        clear memories of life yet to be seen;
                        Sunlit revelation for the green of the world
                        moonlight resignation to the fear of the girl
                        Paradox - an artist's box of slightest impressions
                        Sarcasm filled palette with a critic's revision
                        Revealing the prized post of an art on display
                        she continues to improve the piece that life won't betray
                        And will spend her blessed hours trying to convey
                        the mind behind the infinitely shaded rainbow
