One (version IV)

One came with piercing eyes
                        dark as the raven
                        But his heart was fleeting
                        and he crept silently
away cloaked by the night's laughter
                        and betrayal's companion...greed.

Then one came with endless eyes
                        blue as the summer sky
He brought me dreams bought on sale
                        pain made from scratch and
                        lust born from envy.
He slammed the door when I couldn't knock
and never did he say a word...

Then one came with penetrating eyes
                        whispering oceans in my dreams
He held my words so deeply
and brought one shell from the land
because he could not bring me his whole island
Obviously a very personal poem...extremely special to
                        me...just keep writing different versions...as life's
twists and turns challenge my heart...
