Momentary Relief

He turns his face toward me as if to say
every word that someone else will not speak
An echo in his heartbeat sings my faith
and redirects the slightest doubts to leave
To watch him breathe and yawn brings such relief --
despite the red alarms he's holding on!
Those hours in fear give me the proof I need:
His will to live will always be that strong
A warning sign sent down from higher hands
To reconfirm the purpose of his birth
A Father's love has sent a second chance
Reminding me how much new life is worth
But here I face the harsh reality;
When you made your choice, why wasn't it me?
