Inconsistent
Release the danger
Inspire the sights and sounds
Of something greater
Softest rustling of leaves around
Cover my sighs with the softest pink
Even the sturdiest of ships will eventually sink
Blue
Pride comes before all that I knew
Even when I need your help like now
The hurt little girl who ran to you
Skinned knees, twisted faith, falling down
Fears have all but multiplied today
And I can’t cry for words my lips betray…
Rainbow bruises cover my scratched heart
Mismatched scars from wooden bars
Late nights on a cloud– cursing your stars
No knocking on the door
Or whispers like before…
It will be okay
Not tomorrow.
Not today.
And I won’t cry for the memories that don’t fade.
Black are the memories that were once so blue
The aging woman who runs from you.
Even when I need your help like now
The hurt little girl who ran to you
Skinned knees, twisted faith, falling down
Fears have all but multiplied today
And I can’t cry for words my lips betray…
Rainbow bruises cover my scratched heart
Mismatched scars from wooden bars
Late nights on a cloud– cursing your stars
No knocking on the door
Or whispers like before…
It will be okay
Not tomorrow.
Not today.
And I won’t cry for the memories that don’t fade.
Black are the memories that were once so blue
The aging woman who runs from you.
