One (version III)

One came with eyes
black like a raven in the night
                        He kissed and held me
                        by the summer moonlight
                        but the reflection was fleeting
                        and sunlight would reveal
                        his purpose was cheating
                        His love was not real.

                        Then one came with eyes
                        blue like the waters...deep
He took me up to the clouds
He made my body feel weak
                        Though my mind heard warnings
                        My heart would not heed
                        He disappeared with no words
                        upon his new steed

                        Then one came with eyes
                        brown like a child's bear
                        He was honest and kind
                        and trusting and fair
                        He stayed near my heart
                        bound by promise and vow
I longed for my soul's mate
I had to find him, but how?

                        Then he came with eyes
green like the grass in the spring
Was it love at first sight
                        I could say anything
                        He had me forever
                        In touch, taste and feel
My thoughts flew away with him
                        It felt too surreal...

                        I stay here beside him
Beneath this darkness can I stay true
Come with me into the new night
where there's me and there's you

Keep me locked deep inside, love
                        I searched for so long
my words lean to your ears
                        and in my heart lies
                        your different song
