Horrifying nightmarish seconds
panick stricken moments
Heart pounding sickness
consumes my thoughts
Adrenaline into overdrive
calmness takes control
Disbelief and doubt lurk nearby
should you really be lost...
My feet burn the ground
eyes scanning everywhere
My voice loudly calling for you
but breaking with pain
Then a tiny voice grows near
a familiar laugh brings relief
Running towards me with a smile
you thought it was all some game
I drop to my knees
grateful that you are safe
hug you and stroke your head
Making mental nightmares
a step away from tragedy
I won't forget this day...
when my soul felt like lead
