Dreaming Through A Window

I went everywhere to find you
                        feeling so alone
I slept for years to feel you
                        went dreaming on my own

                        I waited by that field
                        somewhat near the door
I heard a sweet voice - loving me
                        from somewhere I'd been before

I looked in and my eyes beheld
                        such a beautiful sight
A place where we remained together
                        united in day and night

There were four of them gathered 'round
                        plus one and...and still another
Two young were sisters like in face
Four small of them were brothers

                        Another would come soon
                        to make the perfect tree
                        But most...I remember your eyes
                        a gaze so lovingly...

                        Home felt like something above
the yearning I felt when awoken
I dared not walk back to reality
                        my heart eternally broken

                        It's quiet now again
by three minutes and maybe more
I lie awake and feel you here
                        still standing by the door

Never will I give up my love
                        on finding that special place
I may turn my eyes from the window
if only to see your face

I'm ready to close my eyes again
the night's lullabye brings you near
Your whispering words of comfort and love...

                        I will always be here
