Misunderstood

Love came to me
innocent and smiles
so full of hope
but little wisdom
Safe in my dreams
faith like a child's
Love spoke too softy
I didn't listen
Love whispered
to my deafening soul
you will have great memories
But I realize now, as I grow old
he actually said
you will break from misery

  1. Miss,
I'll try not to comment so often so as to become annoying. With that being said, this poem could possibly become my favorite! Something about it stirs a little corner of my heart. Anxious hope ending with stark realism. So much said with so few words. The mark of a truly gifted poet. Once again,
    "thank You."
