Rebel against my struggling heart's content!
Resist temptation of your loving smile!
I don't forgive what you cannot repent --
in excess of a trillion missing miles.
The risk of looking up to hope again
with puzzles and pyschosis upside down
Relenting to my God who always wins
a restlesness night with blinding sight abounds
And who am I to ask for so much more
When nothing that I've given comes right back?
The barriers crash down the broken door
futility has come to me at last
Release the grip upon my broken heart
Return, my soul, to your innocent start

Blush
Stitches jagged but mended
heart ferociously extended
green grass comforts my lazy feet
Sunrise blushes "Dawn has broken"
while I softly sing and hold her
Father, you have made this moment complete

Sunrise blushes "Dawn has broken"
while I softly sing and hold her
Father, you have made this moment complete

Colors
Why did you take the easy road?
Anyone can smile and laugh!
When I was strong and happy,
we walked the same path.
But when I was fed up and unhappy,
you were nowhere to be found
I braved the fight scared and alone
even faced the final round...
You criticized my sight
You made me lose my ground!
You blamed me for giving up
and not hanging in there until the end
So you wanted me to stay miserable and lost?
NO! Staying would mean giving in...
And on my deathbed looking back...
No family, no support...just a few friends
Begging to erase my mistakes
Dying painfully among my sins.
And so I made my choice...
I chose red instead of blue
In poetry that simply means
I chose him not you...
Red for the infinite passion
I felt to live my life
Red for the missing kiss
while staring deep into his eyes
Looking straight into my soul
finding me whole again
Red for my determination
to change the future end...
Blue I firmly denied -
no sadness, secrets or pain!
Those two colors I fought against
invisible, divisible shades
Red is the color I chose to follow
When everyone walked away.
But sadness is the color of my tears tonight
mixed with the blood from our bitter fight.
Anyone can smile and laugh!

Screen
I am a child of God and Light.
Darkness mocks the pure of heart and
mind
It's all from the same mix – evil’s
spite -
Shadowing us closely through closed
blinds.
It seeps into the mind and hardens
warped desires.
It filters your reality and haunts your
dreams.
It whispers...beckons...calls to you
from the fires
I'm just on the other side....
and salivates through the hole in the
screen

Inconsistent
Release the danger
Inspire the sights and sounds
Of something greater
Softest rustling of leaves around
Cover my sighs with the softest pink
Even the sturdiest of ships will eventually sink
Blue
Pride comes before all that I knew
Even when I need your help like now
The hurt little girl who ran to you
Skinned knees, twisted faith, falling down
Fears have all but multiplied today
And I can’t cry for words my lips betray…
Rainbow bruises cover my scratched heart
Mismatched scars from wooden bars
Late nights on a cloud– cursing your stars
No knocking on the door
Or whispers like before…
It will be okay
Not tomorrow.
Not today.
And I won’t cry for the memories that don’t fade.
Black are the memories that were once so blue
The aging woman who runs from you.
Even when I need your help like now
The hurt little girl who ran to you
Skinned knees, twisted faith, falling down
Fears have all but multiplied today
And I can’t cry for words my lips betray…
Rainbow bruises cover my scratched heart
Mismatched scars from wooden bars
Late nights on a cloud– cursing your stars
No knocking on the door
Or whispers like before…
It will be okay
Not tomorrow.
Not today.
And I won’t cry for the memories that don’t fade.
Black are the memories that were once so blue
The aging woman who runs from you.

Twinge
Wistful and wayward
parting from your cold
A day in the life
that you never told
I see it dying
to have none to hold
Ignoring and lying
we'll never find gold
This journey won't take me
back to your soul
Twisting and turning
away from your cold
Wistful and wayward
we'll never grow old -
together.

to have none to hold
Ignoring and lying
we'll never find gold
This journey won't take me
back to your soul
Twisting and turning

Wistful and wayward
